East Anglia Gardens

East Anglia GardensStay in Norwich, visit Anglesey Abbey, Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens, East Ruston Old Vicarage, Sandringham House and Cambridge.

Day 1
Depart early morning from local area and travel to Cambridgeshire to the National Trust property Anglesey Abbey. Enjoy the splendid arbotetum with its sculptures, formal and informal gardens spread over 98 acres around the Jacobean-style country house. Continue to Norwich , your base for the next four nights.
Day 2
Breakfast in hotel
Travel to Diss to visit Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens with the inspirational Dell gardens. There are over 5 miles of narrow gauge railway to ride around the gardens by steam engine - a great way to relax and enjoy the scenery. (NB check timetable for steam engine days) Bressingham is also the official home to the Dads Army Appreciation Society's collection. Return to Norwich for the evening.
Day 3
Breakfast in hotel
Free morning to explore Norwich city centre, perhaps visit the magnificent cathedral
Afternoon excursion to the acclaimed garden at East Ruston Old Vicarage. This fine modern garden is close to the sea, with a microclimate, which allows many plants too tender for most of East Anglia to Thrive.
Day 4
Breakfast in hotel
Full day excursion to Sandringham House, the home of Her Majesty the Queen. It is surrounded by 60 acres of glorious informal gardens of year-round interest with roses, lavender, and much more
Day 5
Breakfast in hotel and settle all personal accounts.
Depart Norwich for Cambridge for free time either in the city centre, or exploring the University Botanic Garden, heavily influenced by Charles Darwin.
After lunch continue back to local area.
